TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Minimum Age
Purchasers and gift recipients must be aged 18 or over.
You must authenticate your eligibility to purchase champagne from us twice – on entry to the website and prior to purchasing.
Persons receiving the wine must be aged 18 or over.
Stock Availability
Goods are supplied subject to stock availability.
Quantities may be limited from time to time, and we are not obliged to supply you if stocks are insufficient. Alternative gift packaging may be substituted at our discretion in the event of supply shortages or obsolescence. Bottle label and gift card details/styles may vary from time to time. Harvest year dates on Grande Reserve and Blanc de Blancs bottles may vary from the photos.
Order Cancellation
It is not possible to cancel the order once it is placed without the written agreement of Champagne Direct. Any payments refunded will incur the Stripe payment system fee.
Delivery
Couriers leave a card to call them where suitable recipients are not present to receive deliveries. Couriers are not permitted to deliver between the hours of 11.00 pm and 6.00 am. Our couriers don’t deliver on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.
Couriers are required to assess if the person receiving the wine is potentially under the age of 18. If there is any uncertainty then proof of identification must be requested before the delivery can be completed.
If appropriate identification is not supplied when requested then the wine will not be delivered and will be returned to the courier company and placed in their problem freight system. A re-delivery can then be arranged to enable a person of legal age to receive it or collect it from the courier’s depot.
When ordering, we require the recipient’s phone number in order for us to arrange delivery.
It is recommended to provide a business address for delivery as opposed to a residential address if the recipient is not present during the day.
Delivery costs are calculated according to the destination address during checkout. Should an incorrect location be chosen we reserve the right to send you a payment request for the correct amount prior to the order being sent.
Couriers normally do not have access to apartment buildings, so they may deliver to their nearest depot which the recipient will need to visit and collect. Please make sure you choose a business or a non-apartment address to avoid this potential inconvenience. If there is a particular date or event which delivery is intended to meet, please allow more than one additional working day (longer
in December) for delivery and contact us 2 to 3 working days prior to ordering to confirm the most practicable delivery solution. For example:
For birthdays and anniversaries you can order in advance (for example 5 to 7 working days before the actual date) and we will place a prominent label on the package saying “Please open on your birthday” or “Please open on your anniversary”.
We are unable to deliver to PO Box numbers.
In the unlikely event of non-delivery (in whole or part of an order) our liability shall be limited to the replacement of the order (or part thereof).
Orders from outside New Zealand to recipients within New Zealand are most welcome.
Prices
Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.

Payment
Payment is by direct transfer into our bank account or by credit or debit card, Visa or MasterCard only. If you pay by credit or debit card you agree to indemnify us against any default by your credit card company to make payment to us in full. If you wish to pay by direct credit please contact us by email or phone us first. Goods will be despatched after funds are cleared in our account.
